Introduction to Inclusive Cycling
Activity Leader Workshops

What are the workshops about?

Cycling really is for everybody, so our informal and informative 3-hour long workshops are focused on how to ensure cycling can be truly inclusive, and how your organisation or group can provide inclusive cycling activities. These workshops are free of charge, and have been kindly funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Who can take part?

Staff and volunteers from West Yorkshire based organisations and groups, such as active travel hubs, local councils, disability support groups, schools, care homes, sporting venues, community support organisations and older‑people groups.

If you currently provide inclusive cycling activities, or if you are interested in offering inclusive cycling, please join us for this interactive workshop. This is a great opportunity to network with other activity providers and share best practices and knowledge.

What will you learn?

Alongside trying out a diverse range of inclusive cycles, including trikes, tandems, recumbents, wheelchair cycles, handcycles and companion cycles, participants will take part in fun and practical exercises all with an inclusive focus.

The workshops have been designed to improve confidence and knowledge of inclusive cycling, as well as providing practical information about signposting for cycle loans and purchases, local activity providers, and further training opportunities. There will also be invaluable opportunities to network, learn, and share best practices with other organisations that are taking part.
